Hey Target and Walmart: Where Are My Slips?

Hi Ladies:
I come from the South and I’m 39 years old. I have known Walmart to keep whole slips and half slips in the intimate section ever since I’ve shopped there. Today, I needed to make a run to the store to buy a slip for my suit and guess what? I was told by the clerk in Walmart that works in the section that they will no longer be shipping slips or half slips. What’s the deal with that? I have come to find that a lot of ladies don’t wear slips and a lot of them are just flying free in the wind without any under coverage, just underwear. When wearing a suit or skirt with a heavy lining, that’s okay, but if you are wearing a light skirt or dress, a slip must be worn underneath. Slips also wick away sweat and body odor and helps the garment stay fresher longer. This way you get more wear out of a garment before washing or sending it to the dry cleaners.
I’m really hot around the collar to find that stores like Walmart are making a decision for women as to what they will be wearing underneath. They did have shapewear, bras, and underwear on the shelf but no slips. How sad is that?
What has happened to women being feminine and dressing like ladies? I’m tired of seeing women’s thongs through dresses and seeing underwear through skirts in the sunlight. Moms don’t seem to be teaching this any more and now we have a generation of women who don’t know how to dress properly. We need to get back to that. I don’t like it at all. I am hoping that there will be some commenting on this post. I would like to hear more from the ladies. If by chance a man is reading this, don’t you like it when women wear slips, stockings, and a pretty bra? Less isn’t always more.
I was really unhappy to find the only place I will now be able to shop for my slips is to go to my local mall to JCPenny’s, Macys, or Sears to shop. I don’t want to drive out of the way to get what I need. I should be able to go to my local stores around my block and get what I need. Hey Walmart, I’m a consumer who wants my whole slips and half slips back… lets get those shelves restocked.
I call myself sticking it to Walmart by going across the street to Target. I found 8 short half slips, no whole slips, and a shapewear sheath like slip that came to the knees all in small to medium, no plus sizes. There were no traditional slips anywhere to be found. Guess there’s a new trend moving from slips. I refuse to go with it.
Young ladies and girls need to know how to dress early so they can grow up knowing how it’s done. It’s a shame to have on a great suit or designer dress to see your panties underneath or the pattern in your bra. That’s what the slip is for. If your are wearing a half slip, you can use a camisole as well up top if you don’t have a whole slip, but please, let’s stop skipping the slips. It’s a vital part of your wardrobe.
