Women’s Shapewear: I’m Conflicted- What’s Your Take On it?

I was shopping in a department store in my neck of the woods and picked up what I perceived to be a bra and when I took it in hand, it actually was a pair of panty briefs with buttock enhancement. I was like, “whoa” I didn’t know they made these. I’m a plus sized chick so, like my grandma used to say, “I got a plenty” and don’t have to worry about that. If for some reason you are wishing to put more cushion in the rear view, this piece of shapewear would be very handy. The garment just looks like a regular pair of panty briefs except the back has plump bumps on the back.
I then went on the Internet to do some research after seeing this garment and here’s what I found. When men were asked what part of a woman’s body matters the most to you, they put the rear end as number one. Men love women who have a fit build and a nice rear view. Some men prefer smaller ones and others like the J-Lo or Serena Williams profile. I can’t help but to have a moment of pause on this shapewear. If I was a dude and dated a chick because I thought she had a shape that wasn’t exactly hers, I might feel a little cheated especially if I was getting serious about her. I love shapewear but for some reason, this one bothers me a bit. I wear shapewear to smooth out my wrinkles, ripples, and bumps and control muffin top batter. I don’t necessarily wear shapewear for enhancement.
I would love to hear some comments from men and women about how they feel about shapewear as it relates to enhancement. Let’s say you marry a woman and she takes off her shapewear and you find she has no breasts or butt and that it was all an illusion. How would you feel?
When a man sees me, he knows I am a plus sized girl and I have “extra”. My purpose for the shapewear is to look my personal best but would hiding my gut, muffin batter, and thigh ripples be the same as putting on a piece of shapewear with buttock enhancement or a padded bra? I would love to hear some conversation on this one.
