Ardyss Maternity Girdles

The Ardyss made a maternity girdle that can be used from the fourth month of pregnancy up until time of birth. While it supports the pelvis, it also protects and relieves the burden off the spinal column. It also features Ancron Lycra which molds perfectly over the abs, making sure there is no breakage of the dermis, thus avoiding stretch marks.

Now there is no way I will be able to test this one.  My baby days are over.  If there is someone reading this post who is a mom-to-be and would like to try this one, please do and leave a post as to how you liked this product.  My daughter was 7 pounds 6 ounces.  I had more trouble with ankle swelling than back pain.  Different women need different products during their pregnancy.  Hopefully I will feature something that will appeal to a wide muriad of problems pregnant women face while carrying their buns in the oven.

With that, I’m going to say a Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.  I’ll catch up with you guys in January.  It’s snowing out here in Seattle and we are sure to have more on Christmas Eve.  This is my first White Christmas.  Funny thing is… I’m boarding a plane to go home down South so I may get some warmth yet.

P.S.  Remember not to eat too much.  There is only so much the shapewear can do :-)

The Bella Band

Watching your body change when your pregnant can be a new experience for some ladies.  One experience that is sometimes not so pleasant is the ever decreasing choices of clothing as your baby bump expands.   Some ladies love to shop and will go out and buy a whole separate maternity wardrobe and will floss their new duds with great anticipation.  For some ladies, economically speaking, it is just not as easy to purchase a new wardrobe.

The Bella Band Bundle consists of three individual Bella Bands in your choice of color combination. The Bella Band is a seamless knit band you wear at your waistline, over your unbuttoned pre-pregnancy pants, over slightly big maternity pants, or around the waistband of any maternity style that falls down around your hips. The Bella Band holds your pants up, disguising bulky unfastened closures or excessive fabric creating a smooth belly surface. Now, no one has to know your pants are undone or loose. Wear the Bella Band concealed, or let it peek out from under your top for that hip, layered look. If your top rises, it looks like a t-shirt or camisole — not a funky mechanism to expand your waistband or hold up your pants.

Heck, I remember when I was pregnant back in 1989, there were no such choices in clothing or maternity shapewear accessories.  I hated those flowery tops with the empire waistline with bows at the top and the stretch pants with the stretch belly panel but that was all they were making back then.  Now you can even continue wearing your own clothes like your jeans and still feel fashionable.  Times have changed and for the better thanks to maternity shapewear like The Bella Band.

Women’s Shapewear For Expectant Mommies

I was trying to figure out what kind of article I could write pertaining to women’s shapewear that would be appropriate for the season and it got me to thinking. This month will be an ode to pregnant mommies. I’m gonna be featuring products just for my ladies with a bun in the oven. Just like Mary the mother of Jesus… we as women have the awesome job of creating life and perpetuating the circle of life.

Sometimes when your pregnant your clothes don’t fit quite as well and your back gets to hurting or those darn varicose veins start to popping out. That’s when shapewear comes to the rescue. There are an array of products that will help you maintain comfort while your body changes and expands and after birth shapewear can help pull you back into your youthful figure.   No matter what phase of life your in, women’s shapewear can always be a tool to help you feel and look your best.

Today I am featuring maternity support hose for those legs.

Varicose veins sometimes first show up when a women becomes pregnant. During pregnancy the uterus grows and adds pressure inside the inferior vena cava which supplies blood circulation to the legs. The amount of blood in a pregnant woman’s body is increased with her little bundle of joy so that adds to the work those veins have to do. If the inferior vena cava is compressed by your uterus, it becomes harder for the blood to recirculate thereby causing pooling of blood in the leg areas.

Here are some more reasons you would have varicose veins:

  1. If you are overweight during pregnancy.
  2. Carrying more than one pregnancy.
  3. Have a family history of varicose veins.

Maternity support stockings make it easy for the body to send the blood back to the heart and thereby easing up on the pressure in the legs. Special medical grade maternity support hose also known as graduated compression hose are twice as thick as regular panty hose. They are tight at the bottom and become more loose as they go up the leg. This assists the body in sending the blood back to the heart. This also helps prevent some of the ankle swelling.

That reminds me of a funny story when I was carrying my daughter. I had this hankering for some vinegar and salt potato chips. Those chips got so good to me that I ate an entire bag by myself. By the time I arrived for my routine doctor’s visit the next day, my ankles had swollen up so large that my thighs and ankles looked the same. My doctor asked me what the heck was going on and then I had to fess up to my binge.

Well, that’s all for now… look for more articles soon on more shapewear for my preggers chickadoodles.
