Product Review: Lumbarwear

Hi Ladies and Gents:

Before I get started with this review, as part of FTC compliance, I must disclose to you that I was approached by the Lumbarwear company representative and received a sample product and I was allowed to try and keep this product for free.

Lumbarwear is the brand name of an undergarment that has the appearance of a shapewear product, but its primary function is to provide lumbar support. Its aim is not to smooth or conceal imperfections, but to wrap the back and provide abdominal support, which thereby promotes better posture and keeps the body in optimal alignment.

I have back problems. In my early 20s, I fell down the stairs not once but twice in my sister’s home (pesky unsecured stair runners). I have arthritis in my back in the lower portions. I’m almost 39 and now I’m really starting to feel the effects of that fall so long ago. This undergarment surprised me. It did in fact provide the support I needed in my back area. I have a Buddha belly so this garment did not compress all my jiggles, (but that is not the purpose of this garment) so my belly did still hang, but my back felt really good in this garment. I had some problems with the top rolling down. I am overweight, so I have some back rolls up above and that may have been the issue with having to reposition the garment. Other than this, the style I wore, which in the picture on this post, washed great with soap and water and I laid mine on top of my dryer to dry with a towel underneath. The second time I washed it, I threw it in the washing machine with my dainties and then the dryer and it came out just fine. I will give this product a thumbs up.

This product is not a piece of shapewear. It is for lumbar support, understand this. If you are looking to try something strictly for back issues, then give this product a try. If you are looking for something to shape and smooth, maybe try a Body Wrap, Spanx, or Flexees product instead. I say this garment is like a tool to everyday wellness and allows you to increase the time spent doing strenuous activities if you have back issues. It helped me get the job done and stay active during the day without aching so much. Thanks to the folks at Lumbarwear for allowing me to try their product. Now I have something that will keep my back and midsection in place so I can have less aches and pains in my lower back.
